The public record of accessibility
When a website carries the A in its footer, the mark links to its accessibility record here: the dated record of its check, its verified improvements, and the standards referenced.
Record
The record is made after a standard check of best practices by an independent auditor: the site is audited, improvements are made, and the fixes are re-tested. The verified improvements are recorded, and any findings not resolved remain documented in the record. The public page shows who issued the record, three dates (the initial check, the improvements rechecked, and the next scheduled review), its current status, the standards referenced, and a form for reporting accessibility issues.
Active means the record and reporting service are maintained under the current subscription. It does not indicate that every accessibility requirement has been satisfied.

Reporting
Reporting stays open for the full year of the record. Anyone who meets a barrier on a recorded site can file a report from that site's record page, and every report is answered and logged against the record.
